So, it’s time to pack and move (but probably a good idea to make an appointment for a viewing first).

LAYOUT
The street-level entrance is shared. The entrance to the apartment is on the second floor. As soon as you walk in, you find yourself in the living room, next to which is the dining room and open kitchen at the front, with three large windows that overlook the street. The windows admit an optimum level of daylight and the view of a genuine Jordaan street is a feature in itself. The kitchen was fitted in 2019 and is equipped with a range of built-in appliances. The meter cupboard, to the left of the kitchen in the corner, was also replaced and expanded in 2019.
At the rear of the apartment is the bedroom, adjoining which is an open walk-in closet. From here there are views of the greenery of the enclosed gardens. There is also enough space in the walk-in closet for a washing machine and a dryer. The bedroom is partitioned from the rest of the apartment by means of a sliding wall. When it is opened, light shines through the property from both the front and the rear.
Immediately to the right of the apartment entrance is the smart bathroom, featuring shiny white tiles, a luxury sink and vanity unit, a design radiator, a shower with a mixer tap, and a floating toilet.

LOCATION
Amsterdam’s Jordaan district is undoubtedly the most sung about, written about, and romanticised area of anywhere in the Netherlands. Originally built for society’s most impoverished, today it is for many people the favourite part of the canal belt. The Jordaan has a rich history, progressing from being a working-class neighbourhood to a highly sought-after hotspot. It was built as part of the major expansion of the city in 1612, and was intended for workers and immigrants. This continued more or less until the 19th century, when levels of poverty worsened, reaching their lowest point during the Second World War. A large-scale renovation project was launched in the early 1970s, which has resulted in the area becoming what it is today - a bustling, lively, and friendly part of the city with its own unique charm.
Two markets, the Noordermarkt and the Lindengrachtmarkt, are within easy walking distance of the apartment, and there is a wide range of local excellent cafés, restaurants, and wine bars. There are numerous little shops on nearby Prinsenstraat and Herenstraat that you will find in no other town or city. Speaking of which, if you wanted to visit another town or city, Central Station can be reached easily on foot!

OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION
The owners’ association consists of four members and is managed by the residents. The current service charges are €100 per month. The owners’ association is registered with the Chamber of Commerce. During the past two years, the owners’ association has had major renovation work carried out (including the replacement of window frames at both front and rear, the fitting of HR++ glass, the replacement of fascias, the restoration of ridge tiles, painting of the front of the building).
